He already has some a good crop of  calves on the ground at the Dinmore stable and next heads to Nantwich Show.

Taking the reserve rosette was last year’s supreme winner Charlie Boden of the Sportsmans herd from Stockport, with his two-year-old heifer Sportsmans Highness, who clinched the junior female championship at the RWAS last year . Sired Maerdy Express – purchased in Stirling for 45,000gns in 2011 – she is out of Sportsman Debutante and is fresh from winning the supreme championship at the Livestock Event.

She now heads home where she’ll be put in calf to last year’s supreme champion Barnsford Ferry.

Judge Elgan Jones, Lampeter, Ceredigion, who runs a herd of 200 suckler cows plus followers said on the day the Limousin was a “clear winner”.
