Galloway and Whitebred Shorthorn autumn show and sale

The Galloway and Whitebred Shorthorn autumn shows and sales topped at 2,800gns for a Galloway bulling heifer at Borderway Mart last Friday (7 November).

The champion female, West Acres Patsy, consigned by Graham Noble, Carlisle, Cumbria, is sired by Adam of Lochurr and out of Barlaes Nancy 121st. She sold to R McTurk, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbrightshire.

Next highest was another bulling heifer. This one, consigned by Walter Henderson, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, is sired by Neilman of Whitehill and our of Myrtle 234 of Whitehill. She sold for 2,400gns to M, ME, R and KM Wallace, Hexham, Northumberland.

At the same money was in-calf heifer Drumhumphry Lady Greta from Andrew Brown, Corsock, Castle Douglas. Sired by Lord of Gall-way and out of Drumhumphry Greta, she ran with Jake of Nether Rusko. Buyer was N Ireland, Holmrook, Cumbria.

Whitebred Shorthorn

The sole seller at the Whitebred Shorthorn sale, was in-calf heifer, Longley Rhoda. Consigned by Adrian Wheelwright, Kinross, Fifeshire, she was sired by Parton Comet and out of Longley Rosetta. In-calf to Longley Valiant 2nd, she went home with S Patterson, Kendal, Cumbria for 2,000gns.
