Border Leicester females peak at 650gns thrice at Borderway
Border Leicester females sold to 650gns thrice at the society’s special in-lamb show and sale at Borderway Mart this week (12 January).
First at this money was a Knockglass Cruiser gimmer from David Walker, Pinwherry, Girvan. She sold in lamb with twins by Eildon Merrick and was purchased by V and M Beesley, Reading, Berkshire.
Next at this money was a hogg from Tom Tennant, Ettrick, Selkirk. Sired by Didcot Dylan Thomas she is out of a dam by Chartley Izzy. Buyer was Allan Grant, Anstruther, Fife.
The final lot at 650gns was John Barrowman’s Didcot Pheonix gimmer, from Stranraer, Wigtownshire. Out of a dam by Holburn Limited Edition she sold carrying triplets by Eildon Epic. Buyer was Messrs Beesley.
They also paid 620gns for a Didcot Pheonix ewe from Mr Barrowman, which was carrying twins by Knockglass Illustrious.
