Dilandy dispersal tops at 3,700gns for Snowman heifer

The dispersal sale of the Dilandy pedigree herd on behalf of Andrew Shakeshaft, Whattall Farm, Colemere, Shropshire, topped at 3,700gns.

Mr Shakeshaft was forced to disperse the entire milking proportion of his herd after he was left without a milk buyer.

Auctioneer Clive Norbury said: “They sold extremely well; beyond our expectation in view of what’s happening in the industry. There was huge demand and several buyers went home empty handed.”

He said the youngstock section, most notably Wynman daughters, saw tremendous demand and prices were in similar to those being achieved three months ago.

Spirited bidding from a packed ringside saw Roosta Holsteins, Carmarthenshire, pay 3,700gns for Lillyhall Snowman Faith ET (GP84-2yr).
