Belted Galloways peak at 2,000gns at Worcestershire

The Belted Galloway annual southern show and sale at Worcester topped 2,000gns for the second prize heifer Howe Mill Royal Blue from Sir Arbib, Marlborough, Wiltshire.

Sired by the homebred bull See the Sky, she sold in-calf and was secured by Newton Croft Farms, Leicester.

The day’s champion Shelsleys Francesca from David and Deborah Powell, Worcestershire, sold for 1,500gns to the pre-sale judge Robert Adams, Derby.

Cows and calves met a selective trade peaking at 860gns for a consignment from Peter and Linda Stafford’s Kirkland herd, Somerset.

Averages: 17 cows and heifers in calf/with calves at foot, ÂŁ736; six bulling heifers, ÂŁ669; five junior heifers, ÂŁ401; two bulls, ÂŁ672.
