Northumberland breeders Messrs MacPherson of Castlehills Farm secured the top price at the Solway and Tyne Texel sale with their lamb ram Hexel Wild Bill.

Selling for 14,000gns, Wild Bill is a son of Cambwell Taurus and bred from a Glenside Razzle Dazzle mother. He sold to join the Glenside flock for John Forsyth, Maybole, Ayrshire.

Taking the next top price was a ram lamb from the Glenside flock which went for 12,000gns.

Glenside Wild Boy, sired by Castlecairn Vavavoom and out of a Strathbogie Python bred mother, was purchased in the three way partnership of RH Wilson of Milnbank flock, Turriff, Aberdeenshire; JC Innes and Son of Strathbogie flock, Huntly, Aberdeen; and BR Nicolson, Mossbank, Shetland Islands.

Top price shearling ram was the sole entry from Alastair Gault which sold for 4,500gns.

Forkins Viagra by Duncryne Uber Cool and with Ettrick Rainbow Warrior in his mother’s pedigree was knocked down to a joint purchase for J and W Arnott, Kelso, Roxburghshire and JHC Campbell and Sons, Alnwick, Northumberland.

Heading up the female entries was a gimmer from the Baltier selection from Robert Forsyth which sold for 7,200gns.

This was a Springwell Ulsterboy bred gimmer out of a Grey Peel Rambo sired mother. The successful buyer was MA Evans of Denbigh, Clywd.

A gimmer from the Brookhill dispersal sale for Gemma Brown sold for 6,000gns. She is a daughter of Midlock Unique and comes from a Bryn Garth sired mother. This gimmer joins the Lavenham flock for S Cobbald of Suffolk.
