Aberdeen Angus bull JFK heads to Skye for five-figure sum

Alloa-based Aberdeen-Angus breeders, Richard and Carol Rettie, have sold their 17-month-old bull,Retties JFK M195, for an undisclosed five-figure price to Donald Rankin, for his Kilmaluag herd on the Isle of Skye.

The bull was purchased as an embryo from Alistair Clark, Duncanziemere, and has a prize-winning pedigree behind him. His full brother, Duncanziemere Judge C104, was breed champion at the Royal Highland Show in 2004, while his full sister, Duncanziemere Jody D147, won her section at the Royal Highland in 2006.

 

A son of Newcairnie Pastor Z006, JFK has proved himself on the show circuit too – he took the reserve junior male title at the Aberdeen-Angus National Show at Perth in August, and at Kinross Show he won the breed championship before securing the reserve inter-breed award.

 

“JFK has been well admired over the summer and we’re delighted

he’s heading to Skye to work on the Kilmaluag herd and wish Donald Rankin allthe best with him,” said Mr Rettie.
