Dalesbred ewes sell to £900 at Bentham

Dalesbred ewes sold to a top price of £900 at Bentham on Tuesday at the annual show and sale of in-lamb ewes.

Leading the trade was the reserve champion from the pre-sale show, a ewe from Michael Carr of Horton in Ribblesdale. This one sold to Richard Close, Starbottom, who himself had champion in the pre-sale show which went on to sell for £650 to M Thorpe of West Burton.

Mr Close sold another shearling at £500, while the second prize ewe from John Bradley, Settle, sold for £400 and the third prize entry from Christine Scott, Slaidburn, sold for £250.
