Aching legs today from all the walking at Crufts yesterday.
My money for Best in Show was on that gorgeous flatcoated retriever which won the gundog group. Or maybe the Bloodhound which had taken the top spot in the Hound group - it looked as if it had a brilliant personality.
Wasn't sure if I heard the Bloodhound's owner correctly, though, when she said on Saturday night she was planning to drive all the way back to Cornwall that night, then return to Birmingham the next day to compete in the Best in Show. She would have barely got home before having to set off again!
It was a great day. I learnt loads and did lots of reseach into what breed I'm going for next (I've got a soft spot for working dogs, but the cocker spaniel definitely moved up the list).
One breed I did come across in the Discover Dogs area was the Bracco Italiano (above).
I've seen Braccos before at the CLA Game Fair but had the chance to find out more about it. As its name suggests, it's an Italian breed. They're lovely although, as when you get near an Italian Spinone, there's a danger of flying slobber.
There were lots of English bulldogs around yesterday, including this one. Can't work out whether it looks contented, grumpy - or merely as worn out as I felt by the end of the day!

Took my first ever trip to Crufts on Friday, my husband and i spent too much money on our 16 week old lab pup!
Great show however felt the halls were all too similar, apart from Discover Dogs Area every trade stand seamed duplicated. Felt it needed more demonstrations perhaps?
Our legs were tried out by 3pm so called it a day!
Also felt flat coat should have won,
