It was always going to be a controversial one.

Criticising Land Rovers is, for some people, like buying apples from France or insulting a family member. You just don't do it.

There again, a lot of people hate the things - so I suppose it's fair game.

We've had loads of reaction to the original article critisising Land Rovers.

One gentleman, Robert Lay, reckons it was "completely wrong", pointing out that they're still on the road after 50 years, that they have the best retention value of all 4x4s and were even voted the Greatest Ever Vehicle in a recent Top Gear poll.

Quite a few people, however, agree with the critisisms. One of the FWi forum users, He his-self, describes them as "a semi-mobile oil leak on wheels".

There's also a really interesting debate which has been sparked by the original Field Day article on the Land Rover UK Forums.
