Forget golf

I once tried to take up golf. It bored me senseless. I never could quite see the point of it.

I love fishing, though. So I found myself agreeing wholeheatedly with Brian Clarke's article in The Times this morning.

He sums up eloquently the magic of this sport. His angling column appears monthly in the paper, so fishing fans might want to look out for it...

Here, along with golf, is my list of 10 most over-rated things:

1. Golf
2. Formula One
3 Billy Connolly
4 Cricket
5 Jazz
6 Large living rooms
7 The Beatles
8 Anything Quentin Tarantino did after 1994
9 Lettuce
10 BBC costume dramas
