
So, we've got a new DEFRA minister, Hilary Benn.
Here are 10 things about him you may not know.
1 His full name is Hilary James Wedgwood Benn.
2 After two unsuccessful elections in Ealing, he became MP for Leeds Central in 1999.
3. He represents the fourth generation of Benns in Parliament – his father, Tony, is a well-known champion of the far left.
4. He went to a comprehensive school then studied Russian and East European studies at Sussex University.
5. He’s admitted to being teased as a child over the name Hilary, but says “it only made me more attached to it”.
6. His first wife, Rosalind, died of lung cancer aged 26. He is now married to Sally Clark and the couple have four children - a girl and three boys.
7. He backed the fox hunting ban and supported the war in Iraq.
8. He stood for the deputy leadership of the Labour Party last month, coming fourth behind Harriet Harman, Alan Johnson and Jon Cruddas. (His dad gave him his "Benn for Deputy" badges for good luck from when he’d stood for the same position more than 25 year earlier.)
9. He is 53.
10. He is a vegetarian, teetotaller.
