We all like to think we're different - all like to think we're a bit out of the ordinary, not one of the herd, a bit special.
I've just realised I'm part of a demographic. Let me explain.
I've been chatting recently to the guy who runs the B&B and cottage network, Farm Stay UK, and Suzie Paton who does B&B in the Cotswolds, and they both mentioned how people book holidays much later than they used to.
It makes life harder for them because planning ahead is difficult - but it's also good news, because while fewer people took breaks in the British countryside earlier in the summer because of the awful weather, they might still decide at short notice to visit in the latter part of the season.
It's now Monday and I'm going on holiday next week. I still haven't booked anywhere though. We've decided to got for a cottage holiday (lots of walking, lots of wine, lots of books) but it could well get to the middle of this week before we actually book anything.
Like I say, a demographic.
