I've got a soft spot for Aldeburgh, so when I heard about an exhibition by an artist working in that area I was immediately interested.

Jason Gathorne-Hardy's work will be on show at The Long Gallery, Hintlesham Hall, near Ipswich between November 25 and January 15.

Jason's drawings are based on visits to farms around his home in the Upper Alde Valley – in particular, Stud Farm in Great Glemham and Peak Hill Farm in Theberton.

I love the picture at the top of this page. Not quite so sure about the one below, though, I have to say. Now I know I'm a bit of a philistine when it comes to art, but my immediate reaction was to think: He could have at least finished the back end!

I could certainly give that house room. Have always wished I could draw - utterly hopeless though and I work with artists so know my place.

Art lover and cow hater (well, not hater. Indifferent)

I love the drawings but am not into cows much.

Does he do chickens, sheep or cats? If so, can we see some?

Thanks.

Hi Art Lover and Cow Hater,
You can see some of his other work at:

I've also just been told by a Field Day reader about another artist, Hilary Paynter, who draws sheep and whose work can be seen at:

Does anyone know if you can buy prints of this artist?

Regards

Andy
