Get my drift?

An argument is rumbling in the New Forest over the autumn round-ups of ponies - knows as 'drifts'.

Some people are asking tourists to stay away, claiming the occasions are dangerous and shouldn't be treated as a spectator sport!

I remember seeing one of the gathers of ponies on Dartmoor on the box, and yelled at the telly as observers stood deep in the trample zone as if horses were cartoons, lacking weight, substance and sharp hooves.
