Pigeon and carp (not together)

Bearing in mind the bird counting didn't exactly go to plan, I decided to eat one instead.

Haven't had fresh pigeon for ages - and delicious it was too. Flash fried it with some bacon and had it with stir-fry vegetables.

Talking about food, I hear that one Devon couple are hoping to bring back carp to our menus.

Stick to pigeon, Tim! Quite apart from the fact I know how hard you find it catching a carp, I can advise you from personal experience that they taste totally disgusting. Mud and bones on a plate - even my Polish friend Aneta, who has to eat carp every Christmas, says they suck!

Phil, This year will be different - I'm determined to hone my carp fishing skills! Bearing in mind what youu've said, I'm definitely going to throw them back rather than taking them home though!
