Oh dear, I've started something now.
I was sufficiently irked by that whole regional accents business that I emailed The Hereford Times.
Did they realise, I said (never one to knowingly defuse a situation!), that their county's accent had been besmirched.
Anyway, I thought no more of it - but was contacted by a guy from the paper this morning. Looks like I've opened a right can of worms - he may even end up writing a story on it.

Are you sure he wants to interview you? How could you tell through that accent ?
I expect he had difficulty understanding me! Someone said to me the other day my accent (north Kent) makes me sound like I'm tired and very nasal!
