We’ve made it back from the YFC agm in Blackpool, and I have to say there are some sorry-looking members of the Farmers Weekly team this morning.
Adding to the toll of three days of late nights (or early mornings), Faisal, Paul and I have caught a cold, which Isabel reckons came from dirty pint glasses (we don’t know what she’s talking about though, we didn’t touch a drop all weekend…).
It was my first time in Blackpool for the agm, and I had a brilliant time. Thanks to all of the young farmers we met who made our weekend so hilarious.
There are so many things I could mention here, but here are a few of my highlights:
- Being mobbed in Blackpool town centre while Isabel and I were trying to film footage for the agm video (special thanks to Tom from North Somerset YFC for showing us his presenting skills – we’re sure he has a future in TV...)
- Watching Borat store one of the Farmers Weekly fliers in a special place in his outfit…
- Meeting NFYFC president Lionel Hill, who looked very dapper in his lion costume on Saturday night
- Getting a phone call from Warwickshire YFC after they had kidnapped Faisal at the Pleasure Beach
- Laughing at Paul while someone tried to rip his Farmers Weekly t-shirt off him, then having to run very fast when they decided to go for mine instead
As they were so popular, we’ve decided to give away one of our coveted t-shirt to whoever shares the best story from the weekend. Let us know what you got up to and you could look as fetching as we did!
