Sharpen up your skills

Green Scythe 2PS.jpg

Is it me, or is there something a bit scary about this image?

It's a shot from the Lancashire Rural Crafts and Scything festival - which is happening this year on July 26-27 at the Turn Village Community Environmental Reserve near Edenfield.

There'll be displays of rural crafts including willow basket making, hay rope making, wool crafts and eco-art workshops - along, of course, with scything workshops and displays.

OK, it's not exactly Glastonbury - but it might be a nice day out if you're into that sort of thing. More information can be had on 01706 827961.

The photo shows Pat Smith at last year's festival.
