We didn't get back to the bridge that sparked so much debate on this blog - but we did get near to it this weekend. Went to the Peak District and stayed on Saturday night in Youlgreave, although depending on who you talk to that might actually be Youlgrave.

Here are five things I learnt from the weekend:

1. It's a beautiful part of the world and there's some fantastic walking to be had in Lathkill Dale.

2. A homemade steak-and-ale pie and chips, with a pint of Theakston, can induce a state of nirvana.

3. Fell runners are all mad. They need to get out more (or actually, they need to stay in more).

4. It's not a good idea to dive headlong off a wall (Ruth!)

5. Malt loaf is magical stuff'. Particularly with a half inch-thick slab of butter on it.
