... and while we're on the subject of The Telegraph, pet lovers may be interested in the blog that vet Pete Wedderburn writes on their site.

I've emailed Pete this morning to ask if he can explain the strange behaviour of one of my cats - namely, why does she retrieve like a dog.

Throw a ball to her (I'm talking a ping-pong ball with holes in it here, not a football obviously) and she'll manically race after it, bring it back and drop it at my feet or on my lap.

She'll do this time after time before getting bored. Is this normal, or is Nutmeg suffficiently rare that I should consider entering Britain's Got Talent?

Parsley, conversely, seems to have only one talent - sleeping. The stairs are her spot of choice at present.
