And speaking of food on TV, I've just been talking to a friend of mine, Chrissie, who was with Mat Follas yesterday. As you may remember, Mat is the thoroughly nice chap who won this year's MasterChef.
Kiwi Mat is about to open a restaurant called The Wild Garlic at Beaminster in Dorset.
He quit his day job to work full time on the project - it's an old pub he's gutted and renovated - and he plans to major on the types of food which so impressed MasterChef judges Gregg Wallace and my mate John Torode. The father-of-three loves foraging for - and catching - his own ingredients.
His winning menu on the last show consisted of a starter of trio of wild rabbit, a main course of spider crab with hand-cut chips and sea vegetables, and a dessert of lavender mousse with hokey pokey honeycomb and a blackberry sauce.
Chrissie tells me that The Wild Garlic will be a smallish restaurant, doing about 35 covers a night, but Mat might well take on another place next year, then maybe consider opening one in London after that.
According to The Mirror, meanwhile, he's the cooking woman's crumpet.
