Farmer Wants A WifeD.jpg

Meet Derek. He's the guy who'll appear in the first episode of the new series of Farmer Wants a Wife.

The show, which is presented by Louise Redknapp and airs at 9pm on FIVE next Wednesday, will follow the 30-year-old's romantic endeavours.

Affable Derek, who lives in Buckinghamshire, reckons he's so busy working he hasn't had much time to meet women. He's a down-to-earth guy who, in suitably agricultural terms, claims to be looking for a "foxy filly".

He'll get to spend time with some of the ladies who replied to his web ad - conducting such romantic activities as, eeer, mending fences and welding.

Two women who seem to particularly catch his eye are Karla (right) and Sarah.

Love triangle, anyone?

..not enough time!!

Its a classic excuse!

I use it myself all the time! What he actually means, in man speak, is 'I am afraid to commit'!

Wot a sad spectacle !!
You may have well put both the girls in a mud pool right from the start with tight tee shirts on and let them slug it out, i'm sure carla would have loved this !!!.
I have to question why a so called eligible batchelor farmer, not the usual dealer boot and check shirt wearer, had to stoop to this level of entertainment, and whats with the crocodile dundee look in london ? Sarah should have told him where to go, she was lovely.
