Copy of Colin Jackson swaps track for field to showcase Olympic farmers in run up to London 2012.jpg

Olympic silver medallist and former world champion hurdler Colin Jackson has visited an organic dairy farm at Wrexham.

It was part of an Open Farms visit organised by McDonald's to showcase the British farms that will supply quality food for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games next year.

Farmer Mike Done welcomed Colin Jackson, along with members of the public and local dignitaries, to Asney Park Farm near Erbistock.

It's one of the 17,500 British and Irish farms that supply food for the McDonald's menu, and which will provide meals for what will be the world's largest peacetime catering operation next July.

"We're proud that McDonald's has chosen us as an example of the standard of Welsh farming, and we're excited to be involved in providing produce for the Olympics and Paralympics next year," said Mike.

Members of the public can enrol for farm visits here.
