You know the Boat Race – the annual rowing battle between Oxford and Cambridge which is happening on Saturday April 7?
Well on exactly the same date, at exactly the same time, a vaguely similar event will be taking place – the Oxford and Cambridge Goat Race.
Already dubbed by some ‘the other race’, this is the 4th annual such event taking place at Spitalfields City Farm in London.
A crowd of around 2,000 is expected to watch two goats, one named Oxford and one named Cambridge, tear around the cobbled track of the farm.
For those intersted in goats, one of the sponsors - Delamere Dairy - will be on hand at the event to chat to visitors about health benefits of goats’ milk, a common alternative for the one in six who suffers from a cow dairy allergy.
