About this Blog
The gateposts to Field Day are wide - we blog on anything with a rural slant from the length and breadth of our countryside - and sometimes even further. Think famous farmers, naked farmers, food, fishing, real-life, wildlife, vegetables, videos and sometimes even videos about vegetables.
So whether you're an ag student, a seasoned farmer, an aspiring smallholder or a city dweller who just loves a bit of fresh air - then Field Day is for you.

Hello from California. I currently live in Sacramento but grew up in a rural valley 180 miles from here. I miss getting the news from old men by the barber shop and rows of fields. I really do find your blog wonderful.
I miss the lifestyle that goes with a country area. Yours is a exotic piece of that pie. Its familiar and diffrent at the same time.
Thanks for comments on Eggshell diary, if only I'd been busier and got round to mail order I could have sent you a cake. Must update that diary, just realised it's no longer February.
I found your blog after picking up a vintage copy of Farmhouse Fare and googling the title to find out more about the book. Your blog entries are fascinating, such a different world from urban Canada.
I don't really like fashion,I dispise almost everything about it as well as everyone involved involved; I personally don't like the field, the hoopla, the odour and the design of it,First of all, I detest the hundreds of millions of usually sentient women which are suckered in it
