Through The Voluntary Initiative, farmers and advisers continue to raise standards of pesticide use, but continuous improvement is needed.
Environment Agency and water companies are monitoring those pesticides which find their way into water.
Disposal practice is one important aspect farmers and sprayer operators should consider when reviewing their pesticide activities.
Good management will not only save on disposal costs but, just as importantly, will also protect the environment.
The England Catchment Sensitive Farming Delivery Initiative and The Voluntary Initiative and its sponsors are working together in partnership to provide a range of new information and advice to help farmers and advisers take extra steps to protect water from pesticides.
