The new feature FarmOptions, sponsored by Lloyds TSB and supported by farmers weekly, is backed by a wide range of companies and organisations which advise farmers on how to extract maximum value from farms assets, exploit new opportunities and develop new income streams.

“FarmOptions will help farmers identify and develop new, profitable enterprises,” said Sue Graves, Smithfield 2004 show director.

Diversification is becoming a key business strategy for more farming businesses, said Tim Porter, agricultural director of Lloyds TSB.

“To succeed with diversification projects operators need knowledge, management and operational skills that are not always at hand, which is why this new feature at Smithfield 2004 has such an important role to play.”

The Show takes place between Dec 2-5. For more information phone Earls Court Exhibition Centre (020 7370 8228), visit the show website (www.smithfieldshow.co.uk) or our website Farmers Weekly Interactive (www.fwi.co.uk/events).
