Arla Foods has launched a consumer-facing campaign that urges shoppers to buy one of their branded dairy products in order to help its members.
The co-op is encouraging shoppers to pick up Cravendale milk, Anchor and Lurpak butter and Costello cheeses through advertisements in the national press, leaflets distributed by farmers and by using social media.
The advertisements feature a picture of one of their farmer members along with the words “Support Our Farmers”.
It points out the industry is currently under pressure, but because Arla is a co-op “100% of the profits” go back to members and their families”.
“Simply by adding these Arla brands to your shopping basket, you can make a difference today.”
Ash Amirahmadi, head of milk and member services at Arla, said: “We believe the British public wants to help dairy farmers and we want to help them understand how buying Arla products benefits them directly.”
