Cirencester mart’s 11th hour save

CIRENCESTER LIVESTOCK mart is to relocate to nearby Andoversford until its new purpose-built complex is finished next year, auctioneer Voyce Pullin confirmed this week (w/e Sept 17).

The market‘s future looked bleak when its town centre site closed last week.

A planned move to a new site in nearby Driffield has been held up by red tape and a bid to relocate temporarily to the village of Tarlton was turned down by planners.

Auctioneer Chris Voyce said: “We are very relieved we‘ve been able to find somewhere to keep trading because if we were homeless for six months it would have put everything in jeopardy.”

Weekly markets at Andoversford will begin trading calves and store cattle on Tuesday, Sept 21.
