Although only contracted to 36 hours a week, the Morgan family open for 63 – and this sums up their approach.

“Not only, ” remarked one judge, “do they go the extra mile, they will take you that extra mile.”

Having saved the Post Office from closing and continue to work hard to ensure it survives. In the heart of as community, the place provides customers with a variety of local services. It’s something the family has been doing for 60 years.

With limited public transport locally, Morgans is essential to many for their financial arrangements, as well as the postal services.

Irritated by the cost to rural people in accessing their cash, they are sponsoring a charge-free ATM in partnership with the RBS and the PO.

If customers can’t come into the shop to pick up their groceries, the Morgans will deliver. They’ll even help with form filling if their customers are struggling.

They have been enterprising in setting up an internet café facility, now with WiFi, which the whole community now can get the benefit of.

“The Morgans’ care of – and commitment to – their local community and residents is unwavering,” said one of the judges. “Through innovation, they are strengthening the bonds between residents, keeping people from social and digital exclusion and delivering services to meet everyone’s needs. They are truly caring people with great drive ensuring everyone can be included in the hub of this community.”
