Coxhill emigration dispersal

With the tickets booked for a new life in Canada, Pembrokeshire Holstein breeders Ellis and Hazel Morris dispersed their Coxhill herd to a top of 5000gns for an in-calf heifer.


Coxhill Morty Gaye is a Stouder Morty daughter and out of an Alanta dam by Integrity.


With some good Conant-Acres breeding, she was offered in-calf to Braedale Goldwyn and joins the Eola herd of South Wales farmer Ian Harries.


Local breeders Tegwyn and Mary Davies gave 4000gns for a Progress first calver AI’d in May to Morty followed by 3600gns for the second calver Coxhill Convincer Ruby and 3400gns for Coxhill Stormy Dawn, who traces back to the famous Grove Dawn.


Guest consignors Jimmy and Hefin Wilson offered stock from their Tregibby herd and achieved a best of 4200gns for Tregibby TG Lynda.


By Tregibby Gibson – a son of Dalesend Storm Maude – this calved heifer was taken by Garth Morgan, Goodwick, Pembs.


Robert Jones, who runs the Hollyspring herd at nearby Raglan, gave 3400gns for Weeton Lee Cecilia 63rd.


She dropped her third calf in September after a 12,300kg lactation.


A further consigment from the Maplerose herd of Dick James, Whitland, reached 2200gns when N Roberts, Llanelli, claimed a Leader heifer in-calf to
