Farmers interested in buying and installing small-scale wind turbines can now get information on the grants available via a new database.

The wind turbine grant database for farmers has been launched by wind turbine manufacturer Evance and its main UK distributor Segen.

The database gives farmers information about the local grants available under the EU’s €345m Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, which is administered by the UK’s regional development agencies. Grants typically range from £10,000-60,000 or up to 40% of the installation cost.

Farmers wishing to access the free database should contact Segen on 0845 094 2445 or email
