A GIMMER from Newton Stewart breeders Neale and Janet McQuistin collected the reserve championship and made the top price of 3000gns at a sale of Beltex females at Lanark.

The Dutch-bred gimmer, showing extreme muscling, is in-lamb to Clary Handsome and was bought by Brian Ryder of Moffat.

Mr Ryder collected the championship with a Dutch-bred ewe from his Garrion flock. The ewe, in-lamb to Coningswick Grumpy, was bought by the judge Colin Barnes, Co Tyrone. A gimmer from Mary Dunlop”s Corstane flock at Biggar peaked at 2000gns.
