A Norfolk beef farmer has successfully launched his own range of beef products into 16 Tesco stores across the Eastern region.
Neville Kemp farms one of the UK’s largest pedigree Aberdeen Angus herds at East Harling in Norfolk. He and his wife Mary – a professional cook – developed three beef slice recipes for the stores using beef from their own herd, together with locally-grown vegetables and other flavourings.
“We are delighted that Tesco wanted to take on this local product and we look forward to working with them on developing the range,” Mr Kemp said. “We have worked hard to bring in people who can deliver the quality standards demanded, meet the deadlines and ensure their part of the final tasty product.”
Mr Kemp’s son Ben, who runs a design agency, drew up all the graphics, while local bakers and butchers were also used in the production process.
“By listening to customers, Neville has produced a fantastic tasting range of local products and we hope that our customers like them as much as we do,” Tesco senior buying manager for the East of England, Sam Nundy said.
