EU Residue Rules see Rise in Milking Tube Withdrawal Period
THE WITHDRAWAL period for LEO Yellow Milking Cow tubes has increased to comply with new residue limits set by EU legislation.
With immediate effect, milk for human consumption can only be taken from 132 hours – the 11th milking – after the last treatment with LEO yellow.
This applies even when a pack states the old 84 hours” withdrawal time, says LEO Animal Health”s Malcolm Cobb. “We don’t anticipate change to the withdrawal period for LEO Red Dry Cow. There have been no reports of residues above the maximum limit since the product was launched in 1972,” he adds.
