Two Leicestershire farms in need of renovation are to be auctioned in November.

Hose Lodge, eight miles from Melton Mobray, will go under the hammer in three lots on 4 November.

In total, about 78 acres of Grade 3 pasture is being offered with the sale, while the farm’s four-bedroom house and agricultural buildings are in need of renovation to return them to a workable state.

Ben Shouler, selling agent at Shouler & Son, said: “Sadly since the owner’s retirement the farm has fallen on hard times, but now offers the challenge of rescue to create a residential farm for the 21st century.”

A guide price has not been set, but further details are available from the agent. (Shouler & Son 01664 560 181)

In north-west Leicestershire, Park Farm, near Ibstock, has about 80 acres – half of which is woodland – and a fire-damaged farmhouse in need of replacement or repair.

Its undulating, sloping land is laid to permanent pasture, suitable for grazing and mowing and is split into two fields with stock-proof boundaries.

Trees were planted as part of the Farm Woodland Premium Scheme, which concludes in 2018 but will need to be maintained until 2033.

It contains mixed broadleaved trees and hazel coppice with small areas of wet woodland and willow beds.

The auction takes place on 17 November and Park Farm has a guide price of between £650,000 and £750,000. (Howkins & Harrison 01827 721 380)
