Hope for Northants market

SIGNS ARE emerging that a way forward may be found for the embattled livestock market at Northampton.

Chairman Andrew Cowling said an agreement had been reached, subject to planning, to redevelop the Brackmills site, but to make provision for a new livestock market.

Alastair Brodie, of Henry H Bletsoe and Son, which has handled Northampton‘s trade since its closure, said: “We are prepared to listen to any new idea but getting the livestock mart reopened remains our priority.”
