TESCO HAS agreed it will use the Little Red Tractor logo on the full range of its own-label British cheese.
The logo will appear on more than 50 Tesco cheeses from early next year, including Tesco‘s top of the range lines.
NFU dairy board chairman, Gwyn Jones, said Tesco‘s announcement was an extremely positive development.
“Getting the Little Red Tractor on Tesco‘s British cheese is a big boost for the industry.
“This will help consumers identify British product and drive the domestic market forward.”
Lucy Neville-Rolfe, corporate secretary for Tesco, agreed the logo would allow customers to easily spot British product.
“British cheese has been a huge success at Tesco this year and its popularity is set to increase even further as we introduce new varieties to customers,” she added.
