GrowHow has confirmed a new season price for Nitram of £175/t on farm – based on 24t loads and including merchants’ margin.

The manufacturer has also introduced a “flatter” pricing schedule for forward purchases, adding just £2 for July and £2 for August, compared with the £5 a month carry it had last year.

A company spokesman said this pricing schedule was “slightly uncomfortable” for GrowHow, but acknowledged it needed to regain farmer confidence.

The price drop reflected the drop in the price of nitrogen compared with last year. But sulphur had not come down as much and its Double Top nitrogen sulphate product would carry a £17 premium.
