Business consultancy network Business Link has launched an online “one-stop shop” for farmers wanting to apply best practice and understand government regulation.

The resource, housed on Business Link’s website, brings together 86 guides, covering such things as grant funding, environmental protection, running the farm business and organic farming.

“Farmers and agricultural workers will be able to access a wide range of business information and support in one place, which will save them a great deal of time and money,” said Business Link marketing director Caroline Fawcett said at the NFU conference. “We believe that it will quickly become an essential resource for farmers across England.”

The farming section of the Business Link website also links to general topics, including employing people, taxation and payroll, health and safety, environment and efficiency, IT and e-commerce and international trade.

Information on the site will be updated regularly to ensure that farmers can quickly and easily keep up to date with industry and regulation changes, said a statement.

The government-run consultancy service also continues to offer support to farmers through its network of business advisers, and through its national telephone helpline 0845 600 9006.
