A senior official at the NFU has quit his post to take over as the Food and Drink Federation’s director of communications, sparking a reshuffle of key posts.

Terry Jones, the union’s former director of corporate affairs, will take over from Julian Hunt at the federation.

Mr Hunt is leaving to join Coca-Cola Enterprises as vice president for public affairs and communications.

And, completing a triangle of moves, the post at Coca-Cola was vacated by Erika Coghlan, who has joined the NFU as director of communications.

Mr Jones’ departure has also prompted a reshuffle within the union.

Tom Hind, head of economics and international affairs, will replace Mr Jones as the NFU’s new director of corporate affairs.

Current head of food and farming, Kevin Pearce, has been promoted to director of regions and is replaced by Philip Hudson, who moves up from his role as chief horticultural adviser.
