Grain maize is proving an ideal break crop on Farmers Weekly Barometer grower Troy Stuart’s farm in Devon.

But it was a case of defying the autumn storms at Crealy Farms near Exeter, Devon this Tuesday (25 Oct) to allow Stuart’s Contractors’ Claas Lexion 580 Terra-track combine to get stuck into 8ha (20 acres) of Boltis Maize.

The grain-specific variety was being harvested as part of a joint Claas UK, RHM, Frontier, Banks Cargill and local dealers Hambly’s open day.
