Gargus Farm near Tregony in Cornwall is a 38ha (94-acre) dairy holding nine miles from Truro. Its traditional granite five-bedroom farmhouse needs modernisation, but the farm has extensive modern dairy buildings and traditional stone and slate barns, with the steading sitting centrally in its land.

Selling agent Kivells has set a guide price of £1.1m for Gargus Farm, which has productive pastureland which is mainly level or gently sloping, divided with Cornish stone-walling and hedge bank boundaries.

Although it has been in pasture for many years, the land is also suitable for cropping, said Kivells.

The same firm is also selling Lodgeworthy Farm, Bridgerule, near Holsworthy. This 40ha (100-acre) former dairy unit has a strong residential element and the same £1.1m guide price as Gargus Farm.

It also has Billacott Farm at North Petherwin near Launceston on the Cornwall/Devon border. A mixed stock and arable farm of 96ha (238 acres), Billacott Farm has adaptable modern farm buildings and will be auctioned in three lots in May.

Also set for a May auction is Cherrington Dairy Unit at Mathry, Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire. This 70ha (173-acre) dairy unit has cubicles for 294 head and a 52:26 herringbone parlour, together with planning permission for a four-bedroom farmhouse. Cherrington Dairy Unit will be offered in two lots on 18 May.

The first of these is 136 acres with farm buildings and planning permission for a dwelling with a guide price of £900,000-£1.1m while the second, of about 37 acres has a guide price of more than £200,000. (Kivells 01392 251 261)
