Tenders invited for County Durham farm tenancies

Two County Durham farms and a block of arable land are available on 12-year farm business tenancies.

All three lots form part of the Brancepeth Estate, which lies to the west of Durham city.

Viewing days are taking place on 17 and 19 November.

Hill House Farm is offered with about 280 acres of arable land and 100 acres of permanent pasture with a range of traditional and modern farm buildings, as well as a five-bedroom farmhouse.

Biggin and Hareholme farms have been combined to offer about 200 acres of arable land and 40 acres of permanent pasture with buildings and a three-bedroom farmhouse (pictured).

Lot three is a 70-acre bare block of arable land at East Farm.

“Fully equipped farms of this scale and quality come up only rarely in this region, particularly with this length of tenure, and consequently we expect to receive good levels of interest,” said selling agent William Salvin.

Informal tenders are invited for the three holdings, as a whole or in three lots, by 12pm on Monday 7 December 2015 and the 12-year tenancy will commence in April 2016.
