Thrice 6000gns for Shorthorn bulls

Three bids of 6000gns marked another solid trade for the best of the Beef Shorthorn bulls at Perth this week where 29 head averaged £2953.


First at 6000gns was Podehole Xcellency from young Peterborough breeder Harry Horrell.


This red and white son of Chapelton Promoter had a good Terminal Sire index of +22. Heavily Tofts-bred on both sides, he stays in Scotland with William Young & Son, Fife.


Aberdeen City Council was next to call 6000gns to secure Lord and Lady Glendyne’s mainly red-coated Topper of Craigeassie from their herd in Perthshire.


This AI-sired son of Belmore Fuel Injected is out of a Fingask-sired dam.


Making up the 6000gns trio was Cairnsmore Xtreme Force, a Fearn Scotsman son from Bill and Jane Landers’ herd at Newton Stewart.


There were two bulls at 4500gns.


The champion, Aylward Luscious 2nd from Odiham, Hants, vendor D Rutherford, sold to R Cooke, Wrexham, while Shropshire breeders Messrs Hollows matched the bid for Cairnsmore Xactly Whatyouwant from Mr and Mrs Landers.
