A ewe lamb that failed to make its reserve in the ring later sold for 2900gns to top the Beltex Sheep Society’s sale at Lanark.
The lamb, from Alan Jackson’s flock at Biggar, is by Headlind Jalo and was bought by J Collinge, Lockerbie.
A ewe lamb from the Topflite flock of Grant Anderson, Dumfries that had been a big winner this summer took the reserve title and made 2800gns.
She was bought in partnership by A Gibson, New Cumnock, Ayrshire and Northern Ireland breeder Paul Barnes and is by Headlind Ee By Gum.
Four for one – that was the deal struck for a shearling gimmer carrying triplets that made 1300gns for Inverness breeder Donnie Douglas. From his Beechcross flock consignment, she is by an imported sire and was in-lamb to Horseclose Juggernaut.
Buyer was 11-year-old Alasdair McLean who has set up a new flock on the Isle of Tiree.
A gimmer from the Fearn flock of John Scott, Tain, Ross-shire took the championship under judge Louise Moorhouse from Exeter.
The gimmer is by Ian’s Good Buy and in lamb to Juggernaut.
She made 1100gns and joins the new flock being established by John McLean, New Deer, Aberdeenshire.
