A big-money earning cow once again did the business at Perth this week producing the top-priced Limousin bull at 8000gns after averaging 4900gns for her seven previously sold sons.
Elrick Victorious (beef value 37) was consigned by Aberdeenshire breeder Michael Massie and is out of the Epatant-sired Goldies Isadora.
His sire is Ryedale Paragon whose 24 sons have averaged 4457gns.

Glasgow breeder John Macgregor had a tremendous sale with a great string of bulls.
His best bid was 6800gns for Dyke Victory sold to Glen Kilrie Partnership, Blairgowrie. Victory (beef value 28) is by the Greenwell Manager son Haltcliffe President and out of a Ronick Hawk dam.
The championship went to Scottish Borders breeder John Logan’s Homebyres Viduka.
He is by a son of Ryedale Paragon – Balnacraig Supreme – and scanned 112mm for muscle depth.
Buyers at 6500gns were J and I Sinclair, Orkney.
Mr Macgregor also sold at 6500gns when his reserve intermediate champion Dyke Vitalspark was claimed by Messrs Cornthwaite from Lockerbie.
He, too, is by Ryedale Paragon (beef value, +30).
And there was more cash heading this vendor’s way when 6000gns was called by J Wink and Sons, Huntley, Aberdeenshire, to secure Dyke Voodoo, a Haltcliffe President son.
Completing a remarkable run of some of the day’s most wanted bulls was the same breeder’s Dyke Vulture, a Haltcliffe President son taken at 5200gns by Perthshire buyer R Simpson.
Broadmeadows Cannon continues to make his presence felt and sired Dumbreck Voltage for Aberdeenshire vendor D Work.
He is out of a Jockey dam and made 5000gns to W Barr, Lauder, Berwickshire.
Bound for the Isle of Islay at 5000gns was Anside Vince from S Irvine, Keith, Banffshire.
This Ronick Sidney son (beef value +21) was bought by A McArthur.
The February-born heifer Newhouse Vommy from R M Adam and Son, Glamis, topped the females at 3800gns.
This daughter of Ronick Shapely has a beef value of +25 and was bought by Bernard Mairs, Northern Ireland.
