DairyCo chairman Tim Bennett should resign because the levy body fails to deliver value for money, says Farmers For Action chairman David Handley.

Mr Handley made the call during the Livestock Event at the Birmingham NEC on Thursday (4 July).

It followed a presentation by the Farmers For Action protest leader on the future of the UK dairy industry.

Mr Handley accused DairyCo of wasting farmers’ money and trying to teach milk producers how to “suck eggs”.

Mr Bennett told Farmers Weekly the levy body delivered value for money – and was run by farmers for farmers.

DairyCo was accountable and listened to farmers, said Mr Bennett.

If Mr Handley had a problem, he should sit around the table and have a chat rather than “ranting” from afar, Mr Bennett added.
