An advert for Dodge trucks placed farmers centre stage during the US Super Bowl – a sporting event which draws more than 100m viewers.
The two-minute advert for Ram Trucks shows stark, beautifully shot images of farms and farmers over radio broadcaster Paul Harvey’s speech “God Made a Farmer.”
It has been described by commentators as one of the most compelling adverts screened during the game.
The event is so widely watched that advertisers make commercials specially for the Super Bowl and spend millions to clinch the most valuable slots in the schedule.
Also screened during the game was an advert for milk fronted by wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
It is the latest in the National Milk Moustache “got milk?” Campaign which is funded by the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP) and aims to drive increased consumption of milk.
